As of now, there has been another unwanted entry on this list. Various users have voiced their concern that the YouTube app on their iPhone is capping the 60 FPS HDR videos at 480p resolution. In other words, you could watch a 60 FPS HDR video at a maximum resolution of 480p, there is no option to increase the resolution. Previously the same videos could be watched even at 2K, 2160p60 HDR. Furthermore, this issue is only prevalent with 60 frames per second HDR videos, regular HDR videos don’t have any issues as such. Moreover, only the iOS app is bugged with this problem. So what is the official stance on this bug wherein YouTube 60 FPS HDR videos are being capped at 480p on iPhone? Well, the developers are aware of this issue, but they haven’t given out any ETA for the rollout of a fix. As and when that happens, we will update this guide accordingly.
